rap originated in the ghetto of Bronx Newyork in the USA.It started out as a means of self expression for the black.Great rappers of the golden era of rap music include Grandmaster flash,kurtis blow,chuck-d,rakim etc.they brought rap to the consciousness of Americans by rapping about everyday occurences in a way the audience could connect with.In Nigeria rap has come a long way from the 'talking fast over a beat' days of Eedris to the recent trend of 'dope beat over a catchy hook'that most rappers have been guilty of from overdose(alujo),freestyle(ariwo ko),iceprince(oleku) the above songs are notorious for their simple,lack of depth lines.A good rapper should be able to rap about everyday happenings like mode9(cry),dagrin(ghetto dreams). m.i(wildwildwest). Rap should be a tool for storytelling and also a means to educate and inform..No matter what people think you are not dope if you don't spit depth in your lyrics.A good rapper speaks knowledge on any song he is put on.A dope rapper should also be versatile and should be able to vibe on any beat or genre of music.NOW TELL ME WHATS YOUR DEFINITION OF A DOPE RAPPER?
